TIPS FROM Courtney's

Our aim is to increase the longevity of the flowers you purchase so it is important to consider the following advice.

Roses

  • Cut the stem of the rose at an angle before placing into your vase.
  • Insert the stem into boiling water for about 10 seconds only, so as to scald the flower which will open its air waves.
  • Use ½ sachet of flower preservative.
  • Make sure you change the water daily with normal tap water, but after 3 days use the remainder of the sachet and cut the rose stem again.

Do not place in direct sunlight or near a heater.

Gerberas

  • Cut the flower stem at an angle and fill the vase to only 10 centimetres with normal tap water.
  • Overfilling the vase will cause the flower to prematurely droop.
  • Once again like the rose, change the water daily with normal tap water and after 3 days use the remainder of the sachet and cut the stem again.

Orchids

  • Cut the stem of the flower and replace the water on a daily basis and then lightly spray all flowers with a water spray.
